From Snowy Peaks to Adventure Streaks: Archana Himachal Family Vacation with Thrillophilia

For me travelling with family has always been special and when you add a touch of adventure alongside breathtaking landscapes then the experience becomes truly next level. Our trip to Himachal Pradesh was exactly like that. As a software engineer, I have a very hectic schedule and these vacations help me to unwind and reconnect with family and friends.

We booked our trip with Thrillophilia, and right from the beginning, I knew we were in good hands. The itinerary that was given to us was thoughtfully planned and quite detailed. To ensure we stay connected during the journey, a WhatsApp group was created which gave a good platform for the organisers to stay in touch.

Apoorva, who is a representative of Thrillophilia, was really helpful in helping us to choose the right package. She was polite and very knowledgeable about all the options that were available. She also made sure that our planning phase was effortless and hassle-free. Vidhi, also from Thrillophilia’s team, impressed us with her practical approach. She set realistic expectations about the trip and was very open about all the additional expenses that we may incur for certain activities. This helped us plan our trip and expenses more efficiently.

Warm Welcome to Manali

Our first destination was Manali, and the journey was captivating and enchanting. The changing landscapes from the bustling cityscape of Delhi to the rolling hills of Himachal Pradesh are a feast for the eyes.

When we got to Manali we checked into Hotel Manali Heavens, and I must say, it was just as beautiful as the pictures shared by Vidhi. The rooms were clean, cosy, and well-insulated which ensured we were warm and comfortable despite the chilly weather. The hotel staff was accommodating, even adding curd and boiled eggs to the menu upon request.

The next day, our adventure began with a visit to the beautiful Solang Valley where my family and I tried out zip-lining, zorbing, paragliding and rocket bungee jumping. We had such a great time and the adrenaline rush left us grinning from ear to ear. Watching my kids soar through the sky during paragliding was a moment of pure joy. After a day full of adventure, we enjoyed a delicious meal at the Ride Inn Café. The food was great and the view from the Cafe was simply spectacular.

Exploring Snowy Paradise

Our itinerary also included a visit to the famous Atal Tunnel and Rohtang Pass. The route was simply magical and as we went higher the temperature dropped and the scenery transformed into a snowy wonderland. At Rohtang Pass, we thoroughly enjoyed a playful snowball fight as our laughter echoed throughout the pristine backdrop.

A major highlight of this part of the trip was meeting our local guides, Mr. Ramesh Thakur and Mr. Pal Thakur. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the terrain and culture, and their guidance made this trip truly interesting.

A Few Challenges in Kasol

Our next stop was Kasol, known for its serene vibes and picturesque views. However, this part of the trip came with a few challenges. Our tent stay wasn’t as what we had expected and we found that some of the room latches were broken. Drinking water was also not readily available so we had to keep requesting it. However, I was quite impressed how the team of Thrillophilia promptly addressed the issue even when it was very late in the night. I reached out to their support team and they immediately arranged for an alternative tent which was in perfect condition. Honestly, at that very moment, I praised myself for choosing them as my travel organiser.

We did enjoy crossing the river through a pulley bridge in Kasol. It was nerve-wracking but really thrilling and although I hesitated in the beginning I still got on as I saw the others crossing to the other side safely. In the end, it turned out to be one of the most adventurous moments of the trip.

The Magic of Himachal

The one thing I have to say is that the magic of Himachal is boundless and it is a place that can enchant you endlessly. Misty mornings, the pine-scented air, and the sight of towering deodars were truly soul-stirring. From savouring a hot bowl of Maggi by the roadside to posing in traditional Himachali attire at the Hidimba Devi Temple, every moment felt like a page from a storybook.

Here, I must mention that what stood out the most was the professionalism and attentiveness of the Thrillophilia team. They ensured every detail was taken care of, and even when things didn’t go as planned, they were quick to find solutions.

A Heartfelt Goodbye

As the trip came to an end, there was a mix of emotions. I was eager to tell everyone about our holiday but I also didn’t want to leave the beauty of the Himachali mountains behind. This Himachal tour was more than just a vacation; it was an adventure-filled experience that brought my family closer together.

At this point, I would like to extend my gratitude to Apoorva, Vidhi, and the entire Thrillophilia team for organising such a memorable trip.

So, if you’re considering a trip to Himachal Pradesh, I wholeheartedly recommend booking with Thrillophilia. Their expertise and commitment to creating memorable travel experiences are unmatched.
