A Soulful Trip to Dubai- Arun and his Family’s Thrillophilia Review

A Soulful Trip to Dubai- Arun and his Family’s Thrillophilia Review

As winter approached, the excitement in the Kumar household was electric. The family eagerly looked forward to their annual vacation, and the preparations were in full swing.

Each family member wrote their dream destination on a slip of paper and dropped it into a jar. A week later, they gathered as Mrs. Kumar drew one slip from the jar.

“Dubai!” she announced with a smile.

The children jumped off the ground joyfully, revealing that they had written Dubai on the chits. “We’re going to see the Burj Khalifa and ride camels!” while her elder brother chimed in with his excitement for dune bashing and desert safaris. Inspired by their enthusiasm, Arun wasted no time booking a family trip, leaving the itinerary as a surprise for the rest.

Dhows, Dunes, and Dazzling stars

Three weeks later, they arrived in Dubai, with hearts pounding with excitement.

They began their adventure with a Dhow Cruise along Dubai Marina. As the wooden boat glided through the waters, the family admired the stunning skyline. The glittering skyscrapers, including the iconic Burj Khalifa and Dubai Frame, reflected beautifully on the water.

A delicious buffet of authentic delicacies added to the magical evening, marking a perfect start to their journey. The live music performances on board created a lively ambience that got everyone dancing and giggling. It was a lovely evening to spend with family, and the family was happy as a folk of larks.

The next day was all about Desert Safari. Riding in a 4x4 jeep, the family experienced the thrill of dune bashing. They also tried sandboarding and quad biking, relishing the beauty of the Arabian Desert.

Throughout the evening, the family enjoyed live performances, including the Tanoura and Belly Dance shows. But, the BBQ dinner at the end of the day under the starlit sky was the show stealer.

That night they spent an hour star-gazing, making wishes whenever a shooting star made an appearance. The cold of the desert got to their bones, but the sky views were worth tolerating the biting winds.

Iconic Views from Iconic Buildings

The following day, their driver took them to the Jumeirah Mosque where the guide explained the intricate architecture, pointing out the Quranic verses engraved on the multicoloured marble slabs.

Stopping near the Burj Al Arab, the family clicked memorable pictures posing in front of one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. The building was also revered for its unique ship-like shape, and it looked even more stunning with the naked eye. Then they headed off to Jumeirah Beach where the Arabian Sea’s serene views left them spellbound.

Later, they visited the Burj Khalifa, an experience the children had been eagerly awaiting for. Ascending to the 124th and 125th floors in the fastest elevator in the world, they were greeted with panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline.

“The buildings looked like sparkling Lego pieces from there,” Arun expressed later while sharing the trip's feedback.

To their little ones, the buildings looked more like shiny chocolates. “We will get you both legos and chocolates, but please don't lean against the glass kids” came their mother’s reply, and in a second they stepped back.

Arun’s eyes were fixated upon the horizon. It was the best sunset that he had seen in a while, and he made a timelapse of the same.

Olden Golden + Furious Ferrari

Their visit to the Dubai Frame painted the contrast between old and new Dubai in front of their eyes. The difference was so stark that they had a million questions for the guide. After hearing about the transformation story of Dubai from him, their mouths opened in wonder and their brows arched in surprise. Mrs Kumar truly appreciated how the city had preserved its cultural heritage while embracing modernity, and his outlook on Dubai changed forever.

The family’s adventure continued with a day trip to Abu Dhabi. They explored the Emirates Palace and the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which captivated all with its grandeur and historical significance.

The brightest highlight of the Abu Dhabi trip, however, was a visit to Ferrari World. The children were thrilled by the sight of exhilarating rides, particularly the Formula Rossa, the fastest roller coaster in the world.

The entire family enjoyed the rides and watched the Ferrari World Show, where expert performers showcased jaw-dropping stunts. For them, it was an experience of a lifetime and every fleeting moment made them realise how lucky they were to witness the show.

As they boarded their flight home, they carried with them not just souvenirs, but a treasure trove of memories to cherish for years to come. The trip had taken them through deserts, history, cultural wonders, majestic buildings, and so much food for the mind and heart.

Arun was thankful to the guide for always clearing their curiosity and encouraging them to indulge in the local culture. Finally, their feedback to Thrillophilia after the trip was nothing short of a note of love and appreciation that ended with a line that showed how they valued our services-

“I would definitely recommend Thrillophilia to my friends and relatives in the future and I am certain that you will plan the way you did wonderfully to us”
